The Figure Who MUST Appear AFTER The Raptuređ KJV BIBLE STUDY: 2 Thessalonians 2:4
đ VERSE: Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.â FULL ANALYSIS â
[Israel] Phrase: âWho opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped;â Note: This phrase describes the audacious nature of the Man of Sin (Antichrist), who will appear after the Church (the Body of Christ) is raptured (2 Thess 2:3, 7). He opposes Christ and exalts himself not only above human authority but above every object of worship, whether pagan deities or God Himself. This sets the stage for the fulfillment of prophecy concerning Israelâs future tribulation period. Supporting Scriptures:- 2 Thessalonians 2:3: âLet no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition:â
- Daniel 11:36: âAnd the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvellous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done.â
[Israel] Phrase: âso that he as God sitteth in the temple of God,â Note: This action refers to the ultimate desecration, historically known as the âAbomination of Desolationâ (Matthew 24:15). In the Dispensation of Grace (The Church), God does not dwell in a physical temple in Jerusalem, as believers themselves are the temple of the Holy Ghost (1 Cor 6:19). Therefore, the fact that a âtemple of Godâ exists where the Antichrist can sit confirms that this event is scheduled for the future program of Israel, after the prophetic clock has resumed. Supporting Scriptures:
- Matthew 24:15: âWhen ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)â
- Daniel 9:27: âAnd he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.â
[Israel] Phrase: âshewing himself that he is God.â Note: The climax of the Antichristâs blasphemy is his demand for divine worship. This self-deification is the central requirement of the global government established during the Tribulation, necessitating the enforcement of the Mark of the Beast (Rev 13:8). The entire verse describes the tribulation events that must precede the Second Coming of Christ to establish the kingdom on Earth. Supporting Scriptures:
- Revelation 13:8: âAnd all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.â
