    The One Event Stopping the Antichrist (Until It Leaves)

    📜 KJV BIBLE STUDY: 2 Thessalonians 2:3
    📖 VERSE: Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

    — FULL ANALYSIS — [How to Study] Phrase: “Let no man deceive you by any means:” Note: This is a strong dispensational warning. Paul cautions the Thessalonians (and us) against being misled regarding prophetic timing. The KJV emphasizes the need for believers to adhere strictly to the revealed truth, resisting any attempt to prematurely place them into the timeline of the Day of the Lord.

    [Israel] Phrase: “for that day shall not come,” Note: “That day” refers to the Day of Christ (v. 2) or the Day of the Lord, which encompasses the prophetic events surrounding Israel’s judgment and restoration (the Tribulation). Mid-Acts teaching stresses that the Church, the Body of Christ, has already been caught up to be with the Lord (1 Thess. 4:13-18) before this prophetic period begins, meaning this Day is not an imminent expectation for the current Body of Christ. Supporting Scriptures:

    • 2 Thessalonians 2:1-2: “Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.”

    [Israel] Phrase: “except there come a falling away first,” Note: Before the prophetic Day of the Lord begins, two specific events must occur. First is the ‘falling away’ (apostasia), which is a massive religious and political rebellion or departure from sound doctrine/the faith on earth. This is a clear signpost for the beginning of Israel’s final program.

    [Israel] Phrase: “and that man of sin be revealed,” Note: The second required event is the public revelation of the Antichrist (the world ruler who breaks the covenant with Israel in the middle of Daniel’s 70th week). The Body of Christ is raptured before this individual is revealed and empowered on the world stage (2 Thess. 2:6-7 indicates a restraining force must be removed first).

    [Israel] Phrase: “the son of perdition;” Note: This descriptive title is also applied to Judas Iscariot (John 17:12), signifying a person utterly devoted to destruction and marked for eternal doom. This emphasizes the final, wicked character of the Antichrist who will rule during the Tribulation period.
